Bachelor of Science Programme in Food Technology

The study of meat technology conveys the methods and technological processes for the animal welfare-friendly, hygienic and raw material-saving extraction of fresh meat in the slaughtering and cutting process.

In addition, the students are familiarized with the processing of a wide variety of meat products, ready meals and convenience products with a view to improving the quality and shelf life of the products as well as rational technologies.
Integrated into the lectures, practical exercises and are scientific principles, procedures and methods of the anatomy, chemistry and physics, biochemistry and biotechnology, microbiology and hygiene, sensory technology and engineering as process and machine technology.

The particularly application-oriented course enables graduates to plan, organize and carry out complex courses of action in industry and trade and also at their suppliers. Meat technologists are therefore not only in demand in the relevant companies in the meat industry, but all doors are also open to them in many cooperating industries. This includes systems engineering and the spice, additive and packaging industries, as well as the area of ​​the delicatessen, convenience and ready-made meals industry, which is becoming more and more important.
