76 spice processors and finishers are members of the Association of the Spice Industry. They refine and produce spices spice blends, spice preparations and other condiments - in 2010 for about 284 million euros. Important partners of spice producers are the spice Importers: because of their knowledge of the goods and trading experience, its global connections, special local knowledge and constant market observation.

The statistics show an import of around 95.000 t spices annually to Germany, where volume and paprika are well ahead, followed by nutmeg, cumin, coriander and ginger.

The spice industry covers the need for spices in household, catering, large catering facilities and resale through the trade. At the same time, it is the powerful partner of food manufacturers in the artisanal and industrial sector, with a focus on the meat processing industry.
